The Main Reason For The Writing Process - 849 Words
The main reason for the writing process is to assess what the students can come up with or can create on their own. There are five stages of the writing process, which are prewriting, drafting, revising, editing and publishing. These stages reoccur once the students begin to write, meaning that the order of the process can go back and forth. Grammar is important when students think of writing because in order to write you need to know how to use correct spelling conventions to communicate with readers. Grammar instruction is normally integrated during the revising and editing stages of the writing process. There are many strategies that Mr. Jordan can utilize with his student in order to assist him with improving his ability to communicate through writing during the ââ¬Å"Writerââ¬â¢s Workshopâ⬠component of the ââ¬Å"Four Patterns of Practice,â⬠throughout each stage of the writing process. During the prewriting stage of the ââ¬Å"Writerââ¬â¢s Workshopâ⬠, stu dents are getting ready to write and think of ideas that they want to write about. This is the stage when students choose a topic, consider a purpose and audience and generate ideas for writing. During this stage, Mr. Jordan has the student to read theyââ¬â¢re writing aloud to a partner to help revise any misspelling or grammar thatââ¬â¢s there. This strategy can help both students to recognize different sentence structures and how to begin and end a sentence.
